Terms of Service
Effective date: July 13, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Time Lance's web and mobile applications (together, the "Service"), operated by Time Lance ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The Service
Time Lance lets individuals and small teams track time against projects, organize that time by client or organisation, and export it as invoice-ready reports. On sign-up you get a personal workspace automatically; you can also join or be invited to organisations run by other users.
2. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and keep it accurate.
- You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Sign-in uses a one-time email code/link rather than a password — keep access to your email secure.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to store or transmit content you don't have the right to store or transmit.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account, workspace, or data.
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
- Reverse-engineer the Service beyond what applicable law permits.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the projects, time entries, notes, and other content you add to the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, store, and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service. We don't claim ownership of Your Content and won't use it for anything beyond providing the Service to you and, where applicable, the organisation it belongs to.
If you're a member of an organisation, time entries you log against that organisation's projects are visible to its admins (and, depending on its settings, other members) — that visibility is a core function of the Service, not something we do independently.
5. Organisations and admins
A user who creates or administers an organisation is responsible for the people they invite and the access they grant. If you leave or are removed from an organisation, time you logged there remains part of that organisation's records (de-identified, not deleted), so its billing history stays intact.
6. Fees
The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, we'll give you advance notice, and any change that affects an account you're already using will not be applied retroactively without your consent.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the app's Settings — this permanently deletes your personal workspace(s) and their contents. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — keep your own copies of anything critical (the export feature exists for this reason).
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Time Lance won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or €0 if you're on the free plan).
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
